ABOUT US

The Division of Tourism is responsible for advancing the development of a sustainable and regenerative tourism industry in Grenada through the formulation and implementation of policy, strategic program and product development, research, and tourism awareness and education

Through a collaborative approach with stakeholders in the tourism industry, the Division of Tourism works to foster a tourism environment that empowers Grenadians, generates foreign earnings and delivers an authentic and unforgettable experience for all to enjoy.

Community Tourism Grant Funding Project

Launched in December 2023, the Community Tourism Grant Fund supports the improvement and competitiveness of the tourism sector by investing in community tourism initiatives.

 

The Community Tourism Grant Funding Project seeks to:

  • Support economic diversification in rural communities.
  • Increase the competitiveness of the tourism industry.
  • Develop tourism facilities, including products and services in ruralcommunities.
  • Increase the presence of tourism related services and products in theother parishes.
  • Promote Agro-tourism and Eco-tourism initiatives.
  • Promote cultural awareness.
Tourism Awareness Campaign

The Division of Tourism, in collaboration with the Grenada Tourism Authority, facilitates tourism awareness through public education and edutainment activities with primary and secondary schools in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

The Tourism Awareness Campaign’s goal is to inform the general public on the importance of the tourism sector to the Grenadian economy and show how everyone has a role in the sector’s development.

The Division of Tourism facilitates several activities throughout the year, including primary school visits, a secondary school essay competition, production and promotion of sector specific awareness videos, and tourism awareness activities for staff.

National Sustainable Tourism Development Plan

The National Sustainable Tourism Development Plan (NSTDP) seeks to transform Grenada’s tourism industry to world class status and guide its development over the medium term.

 

The NSTDP has outlined the strategic framework which is expected to advance the transformation of the tourism sector in a competitive and sustainable approach.

Statutory Bodies

The Ministry oversees key statutory bodies that support tourism, culture, and the creative economy, ensuring sustainable growth and industry development.
